Bwa live in Mali and Burkina Faso. Their masks are often two tone - white and earth or brown. The unmistakeable patterns are often geometrical. They convey specific messages for the members of the tribe. 

Often masks resemble animal spirits that were encountered by the ancestors

This "maskette" is a totem reminder of larger masks. It has the circular eyes and same colors and  geometric design.
